JP Surfboards, a Brief History
I made my first board when I was 13 not really knowing what templates were as there were no other shapers in the area. Everything was done by eye, I didn't even know how to glass the boards. I just draped the glass on and it took me two days to sand it down but it worked. Then I moved on, and later started learning my trade in the surfboard industry, subsequently I became one of the owners of Wave Graffitti.
Wave graffitti lasted for ten years and then went to work for a number of different companies in Cornwall. Since 1998 I've started by myself back in Wales and now have a strong team of five people and and a lot of great surfers riding my boards. We now have a show room in mumbles containing over 60 boards and will have been running nearly a year this Christmas (Ed: 2005).
Cheers,
John
